Happy first day of fall! I hope you’re celebrating appropriately with your pumpkin spice something (I’ll be skipping the pumpkin spice…more of a hot green tea girl…but you do you) or favorite fall weather accessory…unless it’s still 90 degrees where you live…(sadly, that’s me…) But I’m feeling a lot better making a list of my top five favorite fall traditions! If you’re in the same boat as me and it feels like fall is NEVER coming…make this list. It will surely get you in the mood in no time!

Apple Hill Apples and Wooden Fence

Apple Hill. I went for the first time last year and I don’t quite understand why! It’s so adorable! If you haven’t been PLEASE take a Sunday or a random Thursday and just go! If you love apples (duh…Apple Hill), picking pumpkins, cute little country stores filled with random knick-knacks or are just plain looking for a fun place to get lunch with a view? GO! You won’t be disappointed. And I guarantee it will surely climb your list of top things to do during fall like it did mine.

Making pie. Believe it or not, I wasn’t always a fan of pie. But one day I decided to grow up and that is when my love story with pie began. When I think of fall, one of the first things that come to mind is the word – pie! Now go make some pie people…and please share your recipes with me!

Giving thanks. It’s hard to admit that it takes this season for me to realize how thankful I am…but it’s true. As humans we fail every day. We make mistakes, we lose our tempers, we hurt others. I wish I could remember to give thanks every morning before I start my day. Maybe my days would be smoother or happier? But the truth is I don’t and that’s OKAY. Some are better at this than others, but I’m not one of those people. I need this season to remind me of what I am and should be thankful for. And THAT is something I am truly grateful for.

LCN dare: Take time this season and focus on your blessings and not the stress of the holidays to come. You and I have a lot to be thankful for…so go and show some gratitude!!

xoxo, madison naomi
