PINspiration: Cheese and Charcuterie Boards

Even though it hasn’t felt like spring recently, warm days are headed our way. Summer is seriously just around the corner and I am so excited! When it starts to warm up we love to eat outside, BBQ and sip on some chilled wine (preferably rosé).

Nothing screams, “Warm, Summer Nights,” like a good cheese and charcuterie board does…RIGHT?? This week has me currently dreaming of warmer days and some entertaining! And every good host should know “How to Charcuterie”…

Well, I do NOT! I’ll be honest, these boards freak me out. What meats do I pick? What cheese goes well with this meat? What wine pairs well with this spread? Did I buy the right crackers??

Panic.

Okay, maybe not panic, but kinda. I’ve never attempted one. Let me clarify, I have never made one for guests. I have made a few “mini” cheese and charcuterie boards for Aaron and I on occasion. A few slices of salami, some leftover cheese, almonds and some blueberries. I would NEVER claim them official cheese and charcuterie boards!! That’s the extent to my creativity in this area of expertise.

SO…I called in the “big boys” a.k.a. “Pinterest” and did some research.

Check out what I found! Hover over the photo and PIN these to your Pinterest board. Let’s learn how to make the best cheese and charcuterie boards together!

For those of you asking…what the heck is “charcuterie?”

“Charcuterie (shahr-cute-uh-ree) is a French word for any smoked, dry-cured or cooked meat. This category includes favorites like bacon, ham, pâté and sausages. More esoteric items like terrines, rillettes, galantines and duck confit are also considered charcuterie. Although it is not a uniquely French culinary tradition – every culture has methods for preserving meat – the French have done a notable job of creating tasty charcuterie recipes that stand the test of time.” – www.dartagnan.com

After you pin all of these to your own Pinterest board, go follow my Pinterest here! And if you’re an expert…please share your tips in the comments! Can’t wait for this weather to warm up so I can use these new tips and tricks on some lucky guests :)
